The Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble has been a staple in our town since its founding in 1978. Their primary mission is to “establish a resident professional ensemble for the production of quality entertainment and educational programs for the region, and to promote the arts.” From the BTE website:
Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble is unique in the United States and rare in the world; a resident ensemble that has over 30 years of experience together, BTE is comprised of both founding and new members to make up one of the most celebrated groups of artists in theatre. American Theatre Magazine calls BTE “a perfect illustration of commitment to place.”
For my dollar, BTE in Bloomsburg is a tribute to the expression of the arts and is a treasure for our town. Bob Rush, The Bloomsburg Daily’s photographer, snuck into the theatre yesterday (with permission!) to see what the cast and crew were up to and caught them building the set for their upcoming production of “Holiday Memories” which runs from November 25th through December 30th. Why not take a look at what is going on and then head over to the BTE website and get your Holiday tickets?
And remember the Annual Food Preview is Friday, November 25 at 2PM. Admission to this performance is one non-perishable food item. Line usually forms around 12:30PM; doors open at 1:30PM. No reservations, please- first come first serve.
